Uptown Cheapskate is a buy, sell, trade fashion store for young adults. We carry thousands of mall and luxury brands at up to 80% off regular retail prices. We aim to make fashion more sustainable by giving life to gently used clothes that aren't being worn anymore. We're looking for a  Buyer and are willing to train you on everything you need to know.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Inventory: Source, evaluate, and purchase gently used clothing, accessories, and footwear that align with Uptown Cheapskate’s quality standards and target demographic.
  •  Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure optimal inventory levels by monitoring rack health in store. 
  • Customer Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service by helping customers understand what items are in demand and how they can sell their items to Uptown Cheapskate.
  • Market Trend Awareness: Stay updated with current fashion trends, local preferences, and seasonal demands to make informed buying decisions.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals selling to the store, fostering a welcoming environment for them to bring in their items regularly.
  • Quality Control: Assess and inspect incoming items for quality, condition, and marketability.
  • Pricing Strategy: Set appropriate prices for purchased items based on market value, condition, and store profit margins.
  •  Stock Organization: Organize and maintain the sales floor, ensuring that new arrivals are promptly processed and displayed in an appealing manner.
  • Sales Analysis: Analyze sales trends and performance to inform buying decisions and adjust purchasing accordingly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the management and sales team to ensure inventory needs are met and the store runs smoothly.
